The Indian batsman Rohit Sharma has said that he is glad with his recent performances in international cricket, but, he is looking not to get complacent and keep going on like this.
The last couple of months have been brilliant for Rohit. In the ODI series against the Aussies, he scored almost 500 runs including a double hundred and then, in the recently finished test series against West Indies, he scored a couple of successive tons and ended up becoming the player of the series.
Rohit was playing in white shirts for India for the first time in the test series against West Indies. So, there must have been a few butterflies in his stomach, but, on the ground, he showed tremendous calmness. The way he batted, it seemed as if he had already played 40-50 test matches for India.
Talking to the reporters at the end of the series against the Caribbean team, Rohit said, “Look, it’s only the beginning for me. The important thing is to keep going in the same manner. It’s going to be tough; that’s for sure.”
“There is another ODI series coming up in a few days’ time and I am looking forward to that. I want to do well in all formats of the game.”
When asked about the upcoming tour of South Africa, Rohit said, “I have visited South Africa in the past and I have got the idea what kind of pitches we are going to get over there. So, I am going to prepare according to that. But, before that, we have to play an ODI series against West Indies and my focus is on that series at the moment.” click here to bet online that India will beat South Africa.
